Jonathan Huang

VTP Candidate

Sergeant Jonathan Huang is a former United States Marine Corps Infantry Assaultman who enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserves during the summer of 2017. With a desire to pursue higher education immediately upon completion of training, Jonathan enrolled at Kean University for the following spring semester where he successfully completed one full semester before being called to serve overseas in Afghanistan.

While deployed, Jonathan served as base defense and supported outside the wire patrols as a driver and machine gunner. Due to his MOS specialty, he also assisted EOD patrols in known IED locations and set up ordnance disposal with use of explosive charges. On March 1st, 2019, Jonathan’s operating base, along with the forward deployed base in Sangin, was attacked by Taliban gunmen and suicide bombers. Their training and quick response resulted in zero American casualties.

When he arrived home, Jonathan completed his undergraduate degree at Kean University and developed an interest in finance. He obtained his SIE and will work on launching his career as a VTP Candidate at Bancroft Capital.
