Brigadier General (retired) Mark A. Towne is the President and Chief Executive Officer of VETS Leadership LLC, serves on the Board of Directors for a non-profit, and is a former vice-president in the banking industry.
Prior to entering the private sector, BG Towne served in the Pentagon as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, Plans, and Training for the Chief of Army Reserve.
Prior to being promoted to Brigadier General, BG Towne served in key joint, operational, and command assignments to include Deputy Commander – Army, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst; Branch Chief, Joint Staff J8 Force Structure, Resource, and Assessment; Battalion Commander, 3rd Battalion, 312th Regiment (First Army); and as a staff officer for the Deputy Chief of Staff, Resources and Sustainment, Multi-National Force-Iraq.
BG Towne is a graduate of the Marine Corps Command and Staff College, Quantico, VA; the United States Army War College, Carlisle, PA; and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY; and a Doctor of Education (Interdisciplinary Leadership) degree from Creighton University, Omaha, NE.
