Bancroft Capital, a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned broker/dealer announces the appointment of Kate Baltra as Managing Director of Municipals and the new head of the firm’s municipal department. Baltra succeeds Michael Ivcic, who recently stepped down from his managerial role, but continues to serve with the firm.
“Kate is exactly the right person to lead our municipal team,” said Founder and CEO Cauldon Quinn. “The daughter of a U.S. Marine, Kate has passionately embraced our Veteran Training Program and the work we do to provide restorative careers to disabled veteran
s. Professionally, her knowledge, diligence, and ability to incorporate the skills of each team member will help Bancroft continue to be a leader in the municipal space.”
One of Bancroft Capital’s Plankowners and founding members, Baltra has served as the firm’s main secondary trader since inception, and most recently was the head of all municipal sales and trading.
“I am truly honored to have the opportunity to lead Bancroft’s municipal department,” said Baltra. “We have a tremendous team in place, and I am looking forward to continuing to build upon the growth and success we’ve have over the past six years.”
In taking over for Ivcic, Baltra becomes the first woman to serve as the head of a municipal department at a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned broker/dealer. Ivcic, who continues to serve as Managing Director of Public Finance while establishing the new “Holy Ghost Prep Business Institute” at his alma mater, said Kate was the only logical choice.
“Kate and I have been building the municipal team together since day one, so it’s only fitting that she now gets the chance to put her own imprint on the department,” said Ivcic. “I’m excited to see where she leads us and will support her however I can.”
