Posted: March 5, 2024

Fort Washington, PA – March 5, 2024 Bancroft Capital, a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), specializing in Institutional Brokerage and Capital Markets services, officially announces Veteran Training Program (VTP) Candidate David Kwon’s graduation from the program and his immediate official hire as a Bancroft Capital Equities Associate.

Kwon officially joins the Bancroft Capital Team as an Equities Associate and will work alongside Bancroft Director of Equities Raymond Hally, assisting in executing stock trades and stock buybacks, as well as developing a client base for equity overnight transactions. Kwon holds the FINRA SIE and Series 7, 52, 57, and 63 licenses.

“I am immensely grateful for the opportunity Bancroft Capital has given me to get licensed and work alongside industry veterans as a finance professional,” said Kwon. “For the past year, I have been fortunate to have my eyes opened to a new field and receiving professional development and guidance. I hope to see our firm grow so that we can continue to bring more veterans into our Veteran Training Program and help them make a successful transition to a civilian career.”

Kwon is a former U.S. Army Infantryman who served with the 82nd Airborne Division. Kwon served one combat tour in Afghanistan, working with Afghan security forces, and providing security for local villages. He also holds a BA in Philosophy from Columbia University, and taught English in Brazil from 2019 to 2020. During the Pandemic, Kwon managed a local COVID-19 vaccination site in his hometown of Chicago, IL. He has also performed volunteer work in Kenya, Ecuador, Bolivia, and Puerto Rico as well as in the United States.

“We are thrilled to bring David onboard as an official hire at Bancroft Capital and congratulate him on his graduation from the VTP,” said Bancroft Capital Founder CEO Cauldon D. Quinn. “We are confident that the eagerness to learn and the talent demonstrated as a VTP Candidate will be a great complement to our team.”

A service-disabled Navy veteran himself, Quinn understands the value of the sacrifices made by members of the military and their families, adding that the restoration of military service members into their civilian lives is not only in the best interest of America and its veterans, but also a profitable equation for business.

Launched in 2019 and fully funded by Bancroft Capital, the VTP puts disabled veterans and first responders in a position to develop a skill set capable of supporting a new career as Institutional Traders and Investment Bankers. Bancroft aims to offer paid opportunities to new VTP candidates each year. Candidate training includes a rotation among the five business units Bancroft operates and an introduction to back office and operations functions, sales trading, and compliance while participating in the VTP. Through their own hard work and diligence, each candidate rewrites their futures as they develop skill sets that last through not one job, but for the life of a career.

Bancroft holds certifications and affiliations which illustrate its national significance in the veteran, higher education and business sectors, including: Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB); Elite SDVOB Network, Veterans in Business Networking for Success (VIB Network), National Veteran Business Development Council, (NVBDC); Disability: IN; NaVOBA Service- Disabled Veteran’s Business Enterprise; Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses; Merck Drexel Advanced Leadership Program for Diverse Suppliers; Villanova University; and DeSales University.
